Stephen Nichols is a highly acclaimed star who has portrayed some of daytime television’s most memorable characters in a career that has spanned over two decades and three networks.

He first entered the scene in May 1985 as Steve “Patch” Johnson on NBC’s Days of Our Lives, a role that earned him numerous awards and a Emmy nomination. While on Days, his Q rating was second only to Bill Cosby.

In the fall of 1992, he joined NBC’s Santa Barbara as Zen therapist Skyler Gates.

ABC lured him back to daytime in July 1996 in the role of Stefan Darius Mikkosovich Cassadine, to reignite the famous Spencer/Cassadine war on General Hospital. Stephen left the role in January 2002, but returned briefly in 2003.

Days of Our Lives fans celebrated the return of Steve Johnson in June 2006, and Stephen immediately began winning Soap Opera Digest’s Favorite Daytime Actor poll – an honor he consistently won until his run ended in February 2009.

By the end of 2009, Stephen had found a home at CBS on top-rated The Young & the Restless and his Tucker McCall quickly became a fan favorite.
